Shining Stars | Mount Baker

I enjoy shooting long exposure of sunsets, sunrises, and seascapes! Since there was a huge rave about the aurora borealis over the weekend, my girlfriend and I decided to drive up to Artist Point at Mount Baker, hoping to photograph the aurora. We got there by 9:30 pm and did not witness any light show or color plays in the sky - what a bummer! Not to make this trip a wasteful effort, I took the opportunity to practice my astrophotgraphy.
My first attempt at Cannon Beach did not go as planned since I did not include the moonset or rise into the equation. During my second attempt over the weekend at Artist Point, it went well except it was much more difficult than I anticipated. I did not give myself enough time to scope out the place. It was extremely dark! Focusing or viewing through the viewfinder was tough. There were a lot of trial and error composing and focusing my shot in the dark.
After the hustling and rushing in the dark, I was able to capture a few shots to take home with me. Cheers!
