Wonder Woman

Although Wonder Woman is a fictional character, the morals and ideals from the DC Comics heroine are far from fiction. When Heather Abbott was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer she chose to go into battle armed with the embodiment of everything Wonder Woman. Along with her three daughters, Heather dressed up as Wonder Woman, to prove to herself and everyone else that she is strong and will not be broken.

At least one in eight women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer according to breastcancer.org. And while it is a long and hard battle to overcome cancer, it is truly inspirational to witness someone such as Heather who has taken a different and unique approach to overcoming hardships. I was honored to be able to photograph some photos of Heather and her family.
