Madi

Madison, aka Madi, is always my adorable photo subject whenever we get together. This year, I have been spending some quality time with her and her beautiful family. The idea for this photo shoot came about when my wife and I were in Houston, Texas and took note of the different murals all over the city. Ultimately, I thought it would be a fun and creative shoot to take pictures of Madi in front of these murals.

As we ventured out into the city, Madi was like a super model. She had the whole crew in the car assisting her with the preparation. I was in charge of making sure all of the equipment were ready, navigating the crew to each shoot location while her mom's responsibility is to feed her, change her diaper, and fix her outfit. My wife was in charge of assisting Madi with the different poses we wanted to capture, along with making sure Madi was smiling and happy. Madi was more like the superstar of this shoot, instead of the subject.

Before this trip out to Houston, the last time I had seen Madi was last month, and I decided to build upon the photos of Madi and her family I captured then. The challenge with this shoot is getting our little model to pose and smile at the right time for the photos, considering our Madi is only a toddler. However, once we arrived at the Tulip Festival, the challenge proved easy. It was in that moment, I was completely satisfied with the photos of Madi. Success.

THE PERFECT SMILE

It was a wonderful experience snapping photos of Madi and her beautiful family. She may not think much of the photos today, she can revisit these photos when she is older. And she will remember to explore new walls, new destinations, and always smile.
